1. What got you started with this brand? What was your inspiration? What is the idea/concept behind it?

My partner and I would take monthly visits to the North and stay there for a weekend to get away from the city and also to immerse with the locals. We would occasionally buy honey from these locals as pasalubongs to our family and friends, and it came to a point where many of them started asking us to “pasa-buy” the honey–that’s when we decided to market them in the Metro. This was also our way of helping our locals in the North since producing honey is one of their main sources of livelihood.

2. What is your best-selling product?

Our all time best-seller for our classic honey is our Mt. Province variant. For our original honey infusions, it’s our Chili Honey.

3. What do you want people to experience with your brand/product(s)?

We want people to experience the authenticity of pure honey. We also want to educate people on how pure honeys differ in characteristics, depending on the flower source of the bees. One of our main goals is to break the normal thinking of how there is only one taste for pure honey.

We’re also a zero waste advocate. We’ve already ditched the use of single-use plastics such as bubble wraps. We use recycled papers and cartons for our packaging.

4. What tips and advice can you give to entrepreneurs who are just starting out or are planning to start their own brand?

START NOW. Everything doesn’t have to be 100% perfect before you start. As for my personal experience, I started to learn more about my brand and the process (production and marketing) through experience, and applied changes along the way. Where’s the fun in learning if you’ve already figured out everything at the start, right?

5. What’s next for your brand?

We’ve recently launched another brand This is a brand where anyone can become a gift box curator. We’re offering mostly packaging items, mainly showcasing handmade “kraftboxes” by our locals from Laguna (these are the same boxes we use in our BZZZ PH gift sets). We were really moved by these locals’ stories and struggles, especially during this pandemic, and that is what really pushed me to start this new brand. So far, people have welcomed our new brand very warmly and we couldn’t be more grateful.

6. What other additional information and details would you like to share?

We’re now adding more pre-curated gift boxes, especially for the upcoming holidays. We’re trying our best to tap other local brands and collaborate with them for these gift sets.
